How do I know which inverter to buy?

Different devices require specific wattages to run correctly and efficiently. Please use this easy formula to determine the correct size

inverter:

AMPS x 120 = Watts

Example: 15 Amp Cooling Unit X 120 = 1800 Watts

Battery Connected:

On Grid:

If you are concerned at all about your utility rates going up and would like to do something to reduce your monthly electric bill, then a grid-tie energy system may be just the thing for you. These systems are easy to install and since some do not have batteries for back-up, the lack of batteries in these systems means no maintenance or replacements to worry about. The key component in this system is a “Grid Tied Inverter” this is the unit that changes the DC from the solar array into AC for household requirements. You will need to contact your local power company and enter a “Grid Tie Agreement” with them.

Off Grid:

If you require battery charging or emergency back- up power, then an “Off Grid” system is ideal. You can harness either Solar or Wind power to charge up battery banks giving quite clean power wherever you are. Should you need AC or 110 Volt power, simply add an Inverter to run appliances. If your regular power goes down due to inclement weather, or power outage batteries are vital, utilizing “Off Grid” power supply keeps you safe and secure.
